- Space Research and Technology
This Sub-Section group comprises government establishments that conduct space research.
This Sub-Section is comprised of:
- Australian National University Plasma Research Laboratory - Australian National University facility studying magnetic confinement in toroidal systems and open systems with applications to space phenomena and advanced plasma processing.
- Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE) - Provides an overview of government space activities.
- Center for Earth and Planetary Studies - Unit within the Collections and Research Department of the National Air and Space Museum. Features research, outreach and image galleries covering planetary science, terrestrial geophysics, and the remote sensing of environmental change.
- German National Aerospace Agency (DLR) - Resource with updated details on national space projects and related scientific research.
- Human Spaceflight - ESA's Human Spaceflight site features the latest news in astronauts, the International Space Station (ISS), research in space, and education.
- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) - Provides details of spacecraft, launchers, facilities, space science activities, and links to related Indian government bodies.
- Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) - Project overviews, space policies and news from the Japanese space Agency formed in 2003 by regrouping a number of research institutions.
- Khrunichev Space Center - Russian national aerospace research and production center
- Laboratory for Physical Sciences - Federally funded research institute at the University of Maryland. Research projects include: quantum computing, fiber optics, optoelectronics, photonics, microelectronics, nanostructures, magnetics, thermal management.
- NASA Headquarters - Located in Washington, D.C., exercises management over the space flight centers, research centers, and other installations that are run by the space program. Includes organizational charts and addresses.
- National Space Biomedical Research Institute - Established in 1997 through a NASA competition, the consortium of 12 institutions working to prevent or solve health problems related to long-duration space travel and prolonged exposure to microgravity. The group's primary mission objective is to ensure safe and productive human space flight.
- National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) - Updated information on Japan's involvement in the International Space Station, launch vehicle developments, satellites, space research and international space cooperation.
- National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) - Collaborative research and education initiative focused on selected key scientific disciplines. Including the disciplines of earth science, space science, materials science, biotechnology, advanced optics technology, space propulsion physics and information technology.
- Onera - French Aeronautics and Space Research Center - Covers all the scientific disciplines involved in aircraft, spacecraft and missile design.
- The Polish Space Research Centre - Provides overview of national space projects, policy and documentation.
- Space Research Organization Netherlands (SRON) - National center for the development and exploitation of satellite instruments in astrophysics and earth system science in the Netherlands.
- State Research Center of Russia - Russia's Central R & D Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics (CRDI RTC). Research topics include robotics and cybernetics for space, air, terrestrial, and anti-terrorism applications.
- Technical and Quality Management - ESTEC, the European Space Research and Technology Centre, is the design hub for most ESA spacecraft and technology development, and is situated in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.
